This is my first full length book, following shortly after Revenging Language was published as a chapbook by Fiddlehead Press back in 1973. The title is a truncation from a quotation from Plato: "Love is a grave mental illness." Like the poems of most young poets, the central themes are love and lust.
The book has long been out of print, but I feel many of the poems have stood the test of time.
